It was reported that police were investigating the disappearance of the teen when they found the body of a white female at a residence. The individual was later identified as a 15-year-old girl, who had been reported missing by her mother two weeks earlier. An additional investigation ensued, and as a result, a 23-year-old man and a 33-year-old man were taken into custody.

It was unclear what may have led authorities to suspect these men or to warrant their arrests. Nonetheless, they are both facing a multitude of criminal charges, including murder, aggravated sexual assault, conspiracy to desecrate a human body and several others. Both men were still in custody at the time of the report, and their bail amounts were set at $1 million each.
