DWI charges can have various affects on a person's situation if he or she is convicted, and many individuals will likely want to defend against such allegations. Luckily, accused parties have defense options that they can explore and potentially utilize as their cases proceed.

One man in New Jersey may be exploring his options after being taken into custody. It was reported that the man allegedly crashed his vehicle in the woods while driving. Authorities responded to the accident site, and witnesses allegedly stated that they saw the man drinking before the crash took place. They also stated that he purportedly threw beer cans from the vehicle after the accident.

Authorities reportedly conducted field sobriety tests, after which the man was taken into custody. As the vehicle was being extracted from the woods, an officer allegedly found a baggie of marijuana. It was not stated whether that baggie was found inside or outside of the vehicle. As a result of the situation, the man is facing charges for DWI, reckless driving, drug possession and multiple other allegations.

Because the man is facing DWI charges and other allegations, he may want to determine what legal options may be best suited for his situation. Information about New Jersey criminal proceedings relating to his case may help him better understand the process.
