In many cases, if an individual is convicted of criminal charges, he or she could face considerable punishment, depending on the type of charges involved. Therefore, it is no surprise that parties would likely want to determine the best way to defend themselves against serious allegations, such as sex crimes. Luckily, information is available to interested parties that may be valuable under their circumstances.

One man in New Jersey may be looking into such information after being taken into custody. It was reported that the man had allegedly engaged in sexual acts with a minor and taken photographs of the young girl. The reports stated that the alleged incidents took place over the span of more than two years. The girl’s exact age was not given in the report, but she was described as prepubescent.

During the investigation, authorities purportedly also uncovered hundreds of photos and videos pertaining to child pornography. Thirteen of those images were allegedly believed to depict sexual situations involving the young girl. As a result of this investigation, the man is currently facing charges for child endangerment as well as federal charges relating to possession of child pornography and sexual exploitation of children.

The charges relating to sex crimes that have been brought against the man could result in numerous years in prison if a conviction occurs. However, the man is considered innocent until — and only if — he is convicted in a court of law. Therefore, he has the opportunity to defend against the charges in New Jersey court in order to work toward a more beneficial outcome. Information on his defense options and criminal proceedings relating to his case may allow him to gain beneficial knowledge.
